VFD Danfoss and Siemens PLC connected via profibus, do I need PID?

Question: I have VFD Danfoss and Siemens PLC connected via profibus. Do I need to use PID block of siemens FB41 to reached the required setpoint for pressure based control?

PID Control blocks can be used in many ways. If you want to control the speed, or other parameters of the VFD Danfoss, PID Control can be helpful.
But there is no must to use of the Siemens PID-blocks.

If you need high precision speed AND you have a Speed - Feedback Signal, you may use PID.Otherwise, it is not really necessary.

BUT if you use the Inverter for pressure control (i.e. controlling speed of pump), a PID connected to pressure transducer makes a lot of sense.
