Hello Bammountain; Vibration monitoring requires not only fast acquisition times, but dedicated monitoring and processing systems, along with special sensors and cables designed for such operations. The CPU can monitor and possibly collect all the data from the monitoring system, and if your S7-1200 CPU is of firmware version v4.4 you will have access to an OPC UA server to send your data to the logs you are preparing. OPC UA-Server of the S7-1200 CPUs https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109775168 Siemens offers a solution with its CMS1200 , with SM 1281 vibration monitoring modules. See the following application note for more details; examine also the screenshot below for a global view.: Monitoring of Machine Vibration Variables with a SIPLUS CMS1200 SM 1281 Condition Monitoring System https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/pe/en/view/109480750 One more option from a 3rd-party, similar in design to the CMS1200: a few years ago we worked on a project that involved a Wago condition monitoring module 750-645, mounted on a Wago Filedbus coupler. There are versions for Profinet and Profibus, such as this one: https://www.wago.com/global/i-o-systems/fieldbus-coupler-profinet-io/p/750-375 The 750-645 is a 2-sensor module that attaches to specialized sensors to monitor vibrations in bearings, for example. Wago provided a Step 7 v5.x version of a dedicated function block to read in the vibration data and alarms from the 750-645. Here are some documents providing information from various sources on the 750-645 performance and installation: WAGO Condition Monitoring - Professional Control Corporation https://www.pccweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/S18-WAGO-Condition-Monitoring.pdf WAGO 750-645 Vibration Monitoring Module- Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNthrjokGV4 I have not been able to locate on the Wago site is the S7 FB designed to integrate the 750-645 in a S7. PLC. If you are interested in this vibration monitoring option, I would suggest you contact Wago support to request this block. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
