I have the Kepware licensed, I have D435-2DP FW 4.3V. I want to access the data through OPC driver in the kepware. I have opened the web-server as I have access to it. Now the question is the OPC server as per manual says we have to edit cfg.xml file,

"<ENDPOINTDESCRIPTION URL="X127:4840"/>"

I have no clue as i am new to Simotion software dont know how to access the CF card either

Now as of I can see that in the cfg.xml its defaulted to the x127 port (correct me if i am wrong)

Can i directly use the IP assigned to the x127 port on the kepware to give it the following address for the server [I am considering that OPC server is alredy default configured to x127 profinet port and so i can directly use it w/o changing the cfg.xml file on CF card]

"opc.tcp://169.254.11.22:4840"

If not then how can get that cfg.xml file from the CF card? DO i need special siemens PG to read it ?

I would like to know which are the SW/HW needs to communicate Simotion with third party device by OPC UA (or other possibility).

It is for an AI application, therefore, time is very important.

I am sorry that I am talking in general terms, but is for different machines/versions of Simotion.

first of all :

Firmware >=4.5 --> OPC-UA

Firmware <=4.4 --> OPC-DA

Basically you need any software that is able to open a socket to simotion and exchange data through the OPC standard (DA/UA). So it is not simple to answer to your question.

Basically you can use the software that is included in the add-on CD where there is a nice, simple and working Visual C# client already programmed and ready. You can use it for testing and it will work flawlessly.

Otherwise there are lot of commercial softwares (like Kepware) that have OPC UA/DA built in code...

Depends who develops the application and how he wants to make it
