I want to update the screen of hmi, try to use tag prefix to combine the regrouped screen into one. So I created a new data structure and used it in the new HMI tag, I want to read specific values from the old HMI tag and write to the new HMI tag, this way I will not the original picture and program Can be used for new attempts. The old HMI TAG has a two-layer structure, and the new HMI TAG has a three-layer structure. What should I do better? I'm currently trying to use HmiRuntime from VBS. The version I use is TIA portal V17 professional

But in this way, the data in other areas of PLC_1 cannot be read. But the old HMI Tag has the data I need, because the old HMI Tag reads data from other areas of PLC_1. What should I do to read data from Old_HNI_Tag and write to New_HMI_Tag? Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 4/25/2025 Posts: 15355 Rating: (1895)	Hello arthur130912 I´m not sure if I understand your usecase 100% -> in WinCC Professional you cannot use adressmultiplexing so you you cannot switch between memory areas on demand. the only way here would be to use tag prefixes and Screenwindows If you just want to copy data from one tag to another you just can use a script. How to read/write tags in Scipts you find in the help system with examples. you only can get access to single tags out of the struct, you cannot send all data from one struct or udt to another with one line of code. If this is not your question then try to explain in another way or send us more screenshots what you want to do Thank you Bye Murof

I have always misunderstood it before, thinking that "tag table" is a part that must be marked, so I can't find the location I want to read and the location to write.
