I have a similar situation like this.

I have one ball screw axis which is controlled by two motors(Motors at both ends). I want to permanently gear this two motors/Axis in 1:1 gear ratio. Can I use fixed gearing TO to achieve this?

 We can call one motor as master and other as slave. Master has a homing routine and positioning feature. In my program, i only give commands to the master motor. I will also gear this master to another axis. On all occasions slave has to  synchronously move with master

Slave only has to follow master in all motions(whether it's homing/Positioning/Gearing with another axis)

In the picture, you can see two motors and a structure connected to two axes(ball screws). If we implement it in a torque mode will there be a chance that the alignment of the structure may change?

Also, the torque experienced by two motors might be different. So we thought position following will be efficient. All mechanical structure such as ball screw pitch is same on two axes.

 Apparently you have 2 balls screws and two axes, not one as you stated earlier.  Yes, gearing would work fine.

Sorry for the initial misunderstanding.

Currently, we thought of implement electronic gear between these two axes. Now if I want to make this axis( 1 and 2 ) to follow another master will it work?. Will it reduce the performance of the drive?

We are using Simotion D425 2DP/PN.

SCENARIO

Axis1 ------------- Axis 2 geared with gear ratio 1:1 (Always).Axis 1 is the master

Axis3-------------- Axis1 geared with a gear ratio n.Axis 3 is the master

Now if I move Axis3, will Axis 2 move?

I read in the manual that Simotion D425 can handle up to 6 synchronous axis

An axis cannot be both a master and a follower.  You may want to look at Virtual axes to do what you want.  Then you can set synchronous axes to follow any number of virtual masters.

However, I think you are overcomplicating this.

We are very concerned about the synchronous movement of the above two axes.

I can gear all the axis to one master at a time. The above two axes will be geared with same gear ratio to one master. Will that be ok? Any one axis of the above two must not move individually at any time.

So I thought if we can permanently gear this two axis and consider these axes as one, then I can gear this single axis to a new master. That's why I asked whether fixed gearing will work for this scenario?
