Hello DChartier, Thanks a lot! I just want to know that if I want to share data between 02 nos 412-2PN CPU's then how it's possible! Regards OmKris ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hello Omkris; If the IM 153-2 modules you use in your project (you need one in every rack where you remove the S7-300 CPU and IM 361) support direct-data exchange functions, the inputs of your DP-slaves can be read by more than a single DP-master. However, outputs in your DP slaves can only be owned (controlled) by the first DP-master that configures them. The second master will not write to them. See the following document for more information: Reading the input data of a DP slave configured by a different DP master https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/19081112 In our projects we would prefer to configure one CPU as the DP master to collect data from the DP-slaves, and use a separate link to connect the 2 CPUs (in your case, they have a Profinet link available to exchange data between them). We would read /write DBs prepared for the exchange of all required data between the 2 CPUs. That way the second CPU was always updated on the value of the inputs from the Profibus network, and could request from the first CPU a write to one of the slaves. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello Omkris; You might have noticed how easy it is to find information on the Product Support pages through the forum Search box, at the right of this page. All you need is a precise question, used as a search term. For example, "Direct data Exchange" along with "S7-400" would have brought you to this FAQ: Which SIMATIC S7 modules support the "Direct Data Exchange" function (internode communication)? https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/hn/en/view/17660809 And you would have found the information you need for your application: S7-400 CPUs support the Direct Data Exchange functionalities. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
