The S7-300/400 CPUs all have anintegrated watchdog timer that will put the CPU in STOP mode if the program blocks exceed the running time configured in the CPU properties (see the Cycle tab). Diagnostics on the watchdog timer overrun will be logged in the Diagnostic buffer of the CPU in case this happens, and the cause and location of the timer overrun will be indicated in the CPU stacks. So there is no need for an external hardware watchdog, in my view. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

If you want to check Memory usage or How many blocks are used in CPU etc. you get this info in CPU diagnostics. So elaborate more on your requirement.
