Web navigator and VB functions

Mr. Q-Bridge Advanced Member Joined: 12/13/2005 Last visit: 12/9/2024 Posts: 64 Rating: (3)	Hello, In the global script VB-editor are several project modules with subs and functions. When I call these functions from a picture (for example a mouse-action of a button) the functions are recognized and executed. When I publish the pictures and push the button on the webnavigator client then I get an error that the function is unknow. What can be the problem? I'm working with WinCC v6.0 SP3 HF2 and Webnavigator v6.1 HF2 with my best regards, Bart Kumbruck

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, Did you publish all necessary project functions and screens, without any errors? There are some functions which aren't supported by WebNavigator. Did you make sure you're not using them? Some ODK functions won't work, neither will PWRTLogin, Loop in Alarm, etc... To check publishing errors you can open the PDLPad from Start -> Simatic -> WebNavigator -> PDLPad, open the published picture from the WebNavigator pictures, choose "Edit" and "Check Scripts". The problem is the VB-scripts they are situated in the PROJECT-module folder. So in fact that are all the scripts that I wrote myself. greetings, Bart Kumbruck

When I copy the script Like it is written in de Global VB-function modules and paste it in a picture-object as for example a mouse button, then the script works fine. The problem is that scrips in a picture object can't find any function that I wrote in de Global VB-project modules. greetz, Bart

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, All our picture windows here open with global actions, just fine.... Couldn't it be the structure of your scripts? Remember that in Web Navigator all scripts run in the server, since the clients don't have a script engine. So if in your script you're accessing any data from the machine, or from the navigation, you might have to re-think how you're doing it for web navigator.... Could you post one of those scripts here? By using the ifdef webnavigator you can make sure some script lines only run under WebNavigator, and some other only run under regular runtime (This is the C function, don't know about a VB equivalent): #ifdef RUN_ON_WEBNAVIGATOR //lines which only run under WebNavigator #else //lines which run under runtime #endif I've never used this functionallity (running different stuff under WebNav) under VB... but you could use it, at least in C, to call different scripts for runtime and WebNav... In runtime you'd call the Global Script function, and in WebNav you'd just execute the code on the object... Does anyone know if there is an equivalent function in VB, and which?
