Web Navigator server 7.0 installation problem

GoForIT Posts: 352 Rating: (7)	Hi, I've now read the installation menual several times but the webnavigator server still won't work. My problem is as follows: I have a dedicated webserver (wincc client) connected to a wincc server. * The webview publication wizard is run from the client. * Where is the published pictures supposed to be stored?? (I guess they will not be stored on the wincc server) * How do the web server find the path to the published pictures?? * Which wincc services/programs shall run on the web server?? * When I connect to the site, I get the message 'failed to load http://..........' There is something I'm totally misunderstanding here, but I can't see what...... O

(I guess they will not be stored on the wincc server) The published pictures will be stored under "projectpath....\OS(1)]WebNavigator\Pictures of your "WebServer". * How do the web server find the path to the published pictures?? All published pictures will be stored in the path above. Therefore it is easy to find this pictures for the webserver. * Which wincc services/programs shall run on the web server?? The normal RT of your client. But it is recomended to do not start the graphicsruntime. The reason for this is the performance. 50 possible WebClients and GraphicsRT could be to much for one comupter. But if you only use 3 WebClients it could be possible to start the GraphicsRT. * When I connect to the site, I get the message 'failed to load http://..........' What adress did you type in your InetExplorer? Did you started the "WebConfiguartor" to create a WebSite on your WebServer? Is your WebServer in a LAN or WAN connection with your WebClients? If it is in a LAN connection you can try to type in only the IP-Adress of the WebServer. Regards Amno

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, Also, a little thing we do here is try to access the webpage locally on the computer, to check if the problem is in the network or the webnavigator's publishing / server configuration. If you can access locally it means the problem is some kind of network configuration. Best regards, Danielle

Do I have to do something with the file permissions since the web pictures is stored og the WinCC server and not locally on the web server?? O Attachment Webnavigator.JPG (283 Downloads)

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, Before getting this message you need to logon, right? Did you get any errors upon publishing your data? Did you publish all pictures, bitmaps and functions properly (specially the pictures, since the system seems to have problems loading a picture)? Could you post your logs here? I connected the webserver to another WinCC server with a new BPC project and its works just fine, I will test my pictures tomorrow to find the problem. Thanks!! O

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, You can use the publishing logs, which may hepl identify the problem... And you can try re-publishing the data. I haven't published screens in a while, so I can't tell you the exact location of the logs... I think they're in the same folder as the other logs ("\SIEMENS\Wincc\Diagnose"). Best regards, Danielle

dwilder Posts: 58 Rating: (4)	Regarding the "Failed to load http://... ...PD_" error messages: One thing to check is to ensure that the correct Start Picture has been specified for the WinCC User. We had made a change to our project such that we had duplicated the project and were opening the new project which had a different name from the original project since it was a duplicate. We had forgotten to update the Start Picture setting for each user account, and when the users tried toaccess the web site they could log in, but the browser reported that the requested start picture was not available (e.g. we got the "Failed to load..." message). We corrected the problem by updating the User Accounts to point to the new project and everything worked fine. Dan
