I can assure you that the trend control also works when using the web client. Today I tested it myself with an MTP1000 Unified Basic Panel (V19, Update 3).

However, as mentioned in the manual, the client must be on the same time as the panel. If the panel's time is more behind your computer than the time axis covers, you will not see the values because of the delay. On the other hand, if the Panel time is ahead of the computer, the trend control will fail because it is not designed to draw values from the future.
