WEB server on GPRS?

I can see that the new CP 1242-7 is out, but from what I can read in the manual I can not reach my WEB server trough the GPRS interface? I need to reach my s7-1200 via GPRS for downloading my logfiles. Does anyone know if this will/can be supported in the future? Or do I have to use a third party gprs/ip gateway router? BR Ben

That´s the same reasonwhy this CP is not able to reach any other ethernet device through the CP-CPU-interface. It will be supported with a CP and CPU FW-update but not before the end of 2012. Alternatively you have to use a device like the SINAUT MD741-1 EGPRS-ROUTER or SCALANCE M873-0 UMTS-ROUTER. However when you have a IP-connection (with corresponding settings inmodem/router/firewall...) or even a VPN-connectionyou can have a automatic download of the logfile without webserver: One possibility for downloading the files can be done by the Mozilla Firefox download-mechanism - you can download a file by using the following pattern: [Path to Firefox.exe] [Path to file on webserver] e.g. "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" "https://192.168.0.1/DataLog.html?FileName=TankStat.csv" This line can be inserted in a batchfile (e.g. "CollectDataLogs.bat") and this batchfile can then be called e.g. by the Microsoft scheduler regularly. You can also add more lines to this batchfile to get several datalogs from different CPUs. Another option would be a downloadmanager (e.g. Orbit Downloader), where you enter the download address (e.g. https://192.168.0.1/DataLog.html?FileName=TankStat.csv) and let the downloadmanager download it regularly. well i hope this will work with the M873. I only read the technical data...

When we had 1242-7 we just dropped it in the garbage can because it has to-much limitations. We decided to only use a common GPRS of LTE router and connect it with the Ethernet on the CPU so we are not limited by the capabilities of a standard s7-1200 modem. And can use all functionalities of the Ethernet.
