WebServer through the internet.

Hello my friends,

I really miss you it has been a very long time.

Now I am dealing with a special project in which we have the following:

1- On the first side we have a remote station (CPU1212) connected to router so to the internet.

2- On the "Central Station" we have a PC connected to the internet.

And the customer want to view the Webserver of the above mentioned CPU on the PC in the Central Station.

My question now, what are the special procedures needed to achieve this type of connection.

OK my friends,

I have learned that the DSL Port Forwarding technology could help.

And the available router there is of kind ASUS "dsl-n10e".

And I found on youtube how to open a port, please watch the video on the link.

Hey!

First you need to make sure that your PLC permits remote access in TIA portal (check the attachment)

You need to make sure that the communication configurations between the PLC and the router are correctly configured, otherwise your router won't see your PLC (Baud rate, Protocol type etc...) !

Establish the remote connection to the router.

Once the tunnel towards the router is established, start TIA and open your project.

Right-click on your PLC in the Devices area (1), and select Go online from the sub menu (2). Set your type of PG/PC and PG/PC parameters as shown in (2.png) and that should work.

You need are forwarding port number 102 for connection to Siemens PLC (S7 Connection). For HTTP connection - port number 80.

So for "Web server" in particular, which port number I should use (102 or 80) after putting the IP address of the remote router (remote station) in the address bar?

In general avoid portforwarding due to Security. The best solution would be a VPN connection.
