What about running a PCS7-client v7.1 SP2/SP3 (winCC) on a Windows7 machine in XP-mode?

(Anyone tried it yet?) We normally useSiemenshardware for servers but 3rd party PC'sfor clients. It's already difficult to get XP machines on the market.... Thanx! Marcel

Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Hi Marcel, I wouldn't recommend to use Win7, because it isn't approved. Why don't you just install XP Professional on those machines?

Even if I install XP on my third party hardware setup, i don't have available driver for that specific hardware with XP OS (since most are made for newer OS), still the setup won't work. Silent Bob Posts: 836 Rating: (100)	Maybe you could use virtualisation for your PCS 7 infrastructure. So you can always use the newest hardware and run older SW on the virtual computers. There is a application wich is describing virtualisation methods that are released for PCS 7. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/51975791
