Hi Rey, You said you have an MP370, but you're trying to configure a SCADA system now, right? To communicate using WinCC you'll need either Step7 or Simatic Net to be installed on that computer. A Simatic Net CD comes along with your WinCC package. You also get a license for Simatic Net Lean in that package, which allows for up to 8 ethernet connections. Be sure to always check the software compatibility when installing Siemens software. You can check this FAQ for that. This is the WinCC v6 Communication Manual. So... once you've made sure you have the right software, a network adapter, and have the computer and the PLC in the same network (you can ping the PLC from the computer, as a test) you must configure the communication... On "WinCC Explorer -> Tag Management -> Simatic S7 Protocol Suite", if you right-click "TCP/IP" you can select the "System Parameter" option. There, in the "Unit" tab, you must select a communication processor within the computer, the one which will be used for the connection. When you right-click your connection, you can select "Properties". There you must configure the IP address, rack and slot number for your PLC. Best regards, Danielle |
