What does it mean "!" in RT simulation?

This "!" you would have gotwhen you made the WinCC get into Runtime (RT) without the PLC. With what WinCC you are trying this? Advanced RT or Professional RT?

Did you press the RT icon? or Did you selected Online Menu -> Simulation -> Start option? or Did you selected Online Menu -> Simulation ->with tag simulatoroption? only if you have selected either of the first two options, you would have got the "!" mark in places where you have linked with any Process Tags

S7-1200 Programming can't be simulated as of now. But i'm not sure why your WinCC Professional is not getting simulated with a tag simulaor. May be i will also check this case n let you know

You can find more informationen about communication with S7 1200 in the following manual. WinCC Professional V11.0 SP2 You should use the SP2 for WinCC V11.
