Hello, Regarding Simatic Net for PCs, there is aSimatic Net DVD containing containing softwarefor communication with Simatic. Here the link to the actual version: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/63098071 Sofnet indicates that the communication drivers are intended for simple (non intelligent) communication boards. The main CPU of PC must handle the communication itself. Hardnet refers to the usage of intelligent communication boards doing the preprocessing of the communiaction protocols used. Hardnet allows higher performance because the main CPU of the PC has less to do regarding communication. IE stand for Industrial Ethernet. PB stands for Profibus. Last step is to select the protocol used like S7. So, Sofnet IE S7 is for Ethernet based communication (using on-board Ethernet or simple CP1612 for instance) using S7 protocol. Softnet IE S7 LEAN does the same, but for less connections. Hardnet IE S7 supposes the usage ofthe intelligentCP1623/CP1628 in the PC Whenbuying one of these items, you get always the same DVD, only the licenses (and price)are different. When you install the DVD,you will have the needed drivers, but also NCM PC (to configure the connections) if Step7 is not installed on that PC, and theSimatic Net OPC server as well. |
