what i do to be a good programmer for PLC

ect_09 Experienced Member Joined: 1/24/2014 Last visit: 3/13/2024 Posts: 119 Rating: (1)	HI friends, Most of the people know about my stupid post in this fourm.. sorry for that. 8 months ago, i worked with siemens logo with ladder logic. it worked fine for me as a beginner level and good understanding with logics.. 1 months ago, i tried to work with TIA portal, I LOVE IT, when i see its video tutorial etc. then i download and install on my PC. i get intro through YOUTUBE (i. how to creat project ...etc) it worked fine as a initial level. but i daily see the posts on this fourm , first i didnt understand 95% posts means i cant answer them. its reality that i didnt know much about TIA PORTAL, i want to be the expert gradulay . i want to gain new things on daily basis. please advice me that what i do to understand the things. how to convert the things as i desire, am a poor student. please give me the free advices that make me well with TIA portal.. i want to help the guys i love it, but this time i dont know much that is the reason i just open the threads and close.. Sorry for that from my side. i know many of the guys see many times their thread to get answer soon. i request to admins of this fourms please help me. PLEASE... thanks...

Marcjan Platinum Member Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 1/15/2025 Posts: 5697 Rating: (715)	Hello, You don't learn solving problems by reading a book, you learn by doing (you can use PLC-sim) It's a proces of years not a few weeks and the proces only stops if you quit with PLC Every time you meet a new problem you learn. First of all, begging and crying is not a good idea if you like to become an student. When I was study, I also go to work to earn money so that I can buy books and a CPU. Why you dont like to do that? Perhaps you are not busy enough?

That's the same here and i guess everywhere i started with dishwashing, packing bags etc to get some money to buy books, PLC etc. I even worked for free just to gain some experience. When i started to learn, there was no internet and all the books were in German. you have a lot more to read for free. Instead of crying, go for it. Go to every factory you know and ask if they can help you learning the automation stuff. Believe me it's more than just programming a PLC, that's the easy part. You need to see a lot of processes and see what solutions are found for each process. Regards, Marcjan

John_Leaver Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear mehtabahmed, you can start by getting a cheap s200 from ebay, I find these easier than the 300/400 programming, then wire up some switches to the inputs and lights to the outputs,please use 24v dc much safer, Then start playing with programs, see what you can do. I find the siemens to program quite a bit harder than omron, but then I have had more to do with these. It does also come down to what is used around the places you want to or are working in. Remeber there is no silly questions.
