What is a combo license

Is it a combination license for portal PLC and wincc basic

or for Step 7 V5.x and PLC portal ?

Normally a Combo license combines two programmes.

 I believe Combo License (Wincc Advanced TIA Portal) means that you can use both WinCC flexible and also WinCC, So it gives you two license for two different softwares

"EXECUTABLE UNDER WINDOWS XP FOR 2010 ONLY, WINDOWS 7 FOR 2010 & V13, WINDOWS 8.1 FOR V13 ONLY REFERENCE-HW: S7-300/400 (S7-1200/1500)"

Does this mean that under windows 8 you can only run portal and not S7 V5.5 ?

It will be very useful for you if you used TIA selection tool, In which you can select your licenses for your software

 Simply yes. STEP7 5.5 SP4 isn't compatible under Windows 8.

Great , that sucks .here comes another VMWare .

On the one side you have IT who wants( no forces ) us to move to the latest OS

and on the other side machines built in the last century some still running DOS.

Now VMWare is a good solution but virtual DOS or floppies or serial ports ,well that's another matter all together
