Hello; Presuming this is a S7-300 or S7-400 with a Profibus-DP network you could connect the PG to the nearest DP node (using Profibus cable and connectors) and reach the CPU. Or if there is an Internet CP on the CPU's rack, simply connect to the network and reach the CPU through its IP address. This is done using what Siemens calls the PG routing functions; it refers to being able to pass information transparently on one type of network to another through an inbuilt router. In this case, to program the CPU you must reach trhe MPI subnet; youcan reach te MPI subnet through Profibus or IE interfaces on the CPU's buses. The minimum requirements for this are described here: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/584459 This link shows you how to set it up: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/16620173 Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
