igalbitt Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	hi everyone i want to add a plc to my machine . it`s very simple, array of conveyors. i want to know what plc to use with? 8 inputs and 5 outputs s7-200 and s7-300 are both enough but what is the different? it`s about 2500 cycles , 12 houres a day. thanks.

I would not go for the 200, because it can be over with this type of CPU any day, a good replacement would be the S7- 1200. I think your ptogram will even fit in a LOGO, to test it you can download the Logosoft Demo and see if it is good enough for your needs. Regards, Marcjan

S7-1200 will be a good choice. You can take a CPU with inbuilt I/Os which will cover the requirements of the project and on the same time will have an option to extend the project... You do not need to take into account when take the decision the features of any of them as your application is very simple and any of them will solve it. I mean here you do not need any special or complicated features for your application. Contact your local Siemens representative and compare prices. For S7-200, you need PS + CPU212 + MICROWIN software + PC adapter USB or PPI-USB. For S7-300, you need PS + CPU 312C + Front connector + SIMATIC Manager Lite (Freeware) + PC adapter USB For S7-1200,you need PS + CPU1212 + STEP7 Basic Hope this helps.
