What PROFIBUS adaptor to use?

fschwa Posts: 28 Rating: (0)	Hi, during the last few weeks we had several problems with PROFIBUS adaptors. We have the - CP 5711 USB, - VP A1 USB and - some Ethernet plug. The CP 5711 and the Ethernet plug need external 24V on some devices and the Ethernet plug does not work on SINAMICS deviced at all. The VP A1 only works on devices that provide 24V over the PROFIBUS plug. I read about the PC Adaptor A2: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=68849363&caller=view It is supposed to work without external (or provided) 24V. My actual question is: is there one adaptor that just works on all devices without external power supply? Thanks. Regards

For ET200 cpus for instance always a external power supply was required. Now there is a successor product the USB A2 6GK1571-0BA00-0AA0 that has 5V DC supply direct from USB, a good thing in fact. However not in my plans to update, since for awhile we have the Ethernet/Profinet option...
