when will the Step 7 be discontinuated?

We got an unofficial news two years back that S7200 PLC may get discontinued in future when S71200 PLC launched. But yet there is no official update. For S7300/400 i don't know.

fbelic Silver Member Joined: 2/17/2009 Last visit: 12/1/2020 Posts: 327 Rating: (28)	Greetings When we had a presentation for introduction of TIA Portal, guys from Siemens who gave the presentation told us that Step7 (and WinCC flexible) and TIA Portal will be paralelly available till 2020. According to them, Step7 will only be getting upgraded to support new hardware and minor fixes, while TIA Portal will be getting new functionalities. Best regards

Regards In addition to the answers that already are given: Step7 will not continued if TIA can do also all things of PCS7. That means, for my view, WinCC must completely be implemeted in TIA. Also server - client. So we will get some more updates for Step7 in the next years, I think so. But no large developement any more.

Hello Ayman, this is from one of the Siemens Person in Germany, But When I was Visited the Siemens Production Line I have not Seen anything, but as we know Siemens is always keep things Secret up to last Movement Let see when we can get ....
