AntonJ Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Where can I find more detailed description about transmission? The thing, I would like to know is - when the data, in remote CPU is written/read, by PUT and GET? Are these data exchanges processed immediately (could be made in any user program moment) or only when CPU process OS (always outside user program)? Actually I have additional question, out of topic. When Siemens OPC server exchange data with PLC? In any moment, when request occurs or only when OB1 processing is completed? This will REALY help to solve my problems. Thanks, for any help. J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello AntonJ, well... in this case we have to take a close look onto S7-Communication. In this case I would say the data is being processed "immediately". Why do I say "immediately", this is due to the structure and priorities within the S7 PLC CPU. This means the S7-Communication is rather low prior. So if there are Alarms... PROFINET IO or PROFIBUS DP around... this is much more important, seen by the priority. This means, is there nothing more important to do... the S7-Communication is being processed immediately within certain time slices. Best regards J_Bell

AntonJ Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Ughhh.... I feel, how million questions just popping in my mind :D What about OPC-PLC connection? Same? Can I configure access type (like synchronous / asynchronous). What about interrupt protection? I could not see any instruction, that can locally disable/enable interrupts. Is that done using FB/FC protection? Should I write some attributes in FB/FC properties? Thank you. That was really fast response.

Lets see, OPC uses usually S7-Communciation to communicate with the S7 PLC, so if you do not use BSEND / BRECV you have the same issue as with usual S7-Communication. The methods you mentioned, synchronous / asynchronous, are methods used on the PC, not valid for the PLC. I am not sure about your interrupt protection you talked about... is it OB 4X you talk about?How many Alarms do you expect within your PLC? Best regards J_Bell
