Where is X20 on MTP700 Basic?

qwazee Platinum Member Joined: 3/30/2020 Last visit: 12/24/2024 Posts: 5014 Rating: (1026)	HARDWARE: 6AV2123-3GB32-0AW0 SOFTWARE: Wincc Unified V19.0.0.2 Figure 1. Configure Modbus RTU communication. A quick search does not reveal if the MTP700 Basic panel has a serial communication port. Yet there is an interface "X20" that can be configured. Could someone point out on a photo where that X20 port is. Can that X20 port be used for MPI (S7-300) and PPI (S7-200) communications? Perhaps it is a paid for add-on that is not in the standard installation. No mention is made of linking to the S7-200 / S7-200 Smart on this Basic panel. Figure 2. Thank you Mr Stefan for your response. -- How nice it would have been if one could use the USB connection to drive some communication port converter. I do miss having a well priced Siemens HMI that we could replace failing HMIs that are connected to legacy S7-200 systems. -- Do you know when the KTPxxx Basic range is set to increase in price to encourage immigration to the MTPxxx Basic range?

The panel will be actively marketed at least until the end of September 2026. As the S7-200 has already been discontinued, communication to the S7-200 is not in the focus of WinCC Unified, but as far as I know it should still be in the backlog. Kind regards Stefan
