Where to find more info about wincc unified object ???

hi All

Generic questions for all wincc unified components/objects but lets focus on the symbolic IO.

Natural place to look for more info is help but it contains only the fallowing.

Is there any place (manual, website etc) to find full list of properties when using Java script to make it more dynamic?

I don't really have a good answer for you but there are some places you can look, if you haven't already:

• The WinCC Unified Engineering manual has a section for object model in the scripting section. For example here is the Symbolic IO field.

• There are however undocumented functions/properties in the object model from what I can tell. For example, this forum post describes that you can actually add and remove items from the ListBox control.

I'm not sure how the OP figured that out but I have had some success with attaching the Chrome debugger and setting break points on the Unified objects at runtime. Often there are nested function calls that obscure the view so you need to methodically assign the return values of the functions to local variables and then set another breakpoint. Slowly down the rabbit hole.

• The next option is a little bit indirect but can provide some insights into what is and isn't supported by different controls. If you navigate to the WinCC Unified source code at the following folder then you can browse through all of the control templates and the javascript code that makes the front-end of Unified work.
  • C:\Program Files\Siemens\Automation\WinCCUnified\WebRH\public
    

In particular, if you open the 'templates' folder and the 'dist' folder in VS Code then you can search through for keywords and fumble your way around the logic or UI implementation. This is obviously pretty heavy going if you are not a software developer but it is an option. I've discovered what other mouse events are supported by dynamic SVGs and how the authorisation field is handled using this method.
