They are RS232 - RS485 convertors. You can not use RS232 cable Best regards, Wizard

I found that we have ppi adapter here, can i used this part no. 6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0, and do i need to set fifth switch to 1 so that it will work as ppi ( M master) or just let it 0 as ppi/freeport? Thank you very much again.

I have downloaded OP 270 6" many times with RS232 null modem cable and had no problems at all. Beginner asked about HMI devices, so i thought you talk about all devices, so I think this should not apply to all devices.

Have a look at following faq: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19109408 They are mostly older panels. Because Begginer mentioned an OP73 Micro, I told that it isn't possible with that panel. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. Best regards, Wizard

Begginer I found that we have ppi adapter here, can i used this part no. 6ES7 901-3CB30-0XA0 Well this article is a RS232 PC/PPI multimaster cable. You have to choose in WinCC flexible, transfer settings -> RS232 It is not possible to connect OP73 Micro to S7-300 CPU. Only S7-200.
