WHICH FUNCTION FOR SENDING DATA TO DCS VIA MODBUS SLAVE

Hunky Posts: 82 Rating: (5)	HI, I AM DOING A PROJECT WHERE I AM SENDING DATA BETWEEN CPU315-2DP AND YUKOGAWA DCS. AND I AM USING MODBUS SLAVE SOFTWARE AND CP341.I WANT TO KNOW WHICH FUNCTION I HAS TO USE LIKE FUNCTION 03, 04, 05, 06. AND ALSO HOW THE DATA CAN BE STORED AT MODBUS ADDRESS CAN YOU PLEASE GUIDE ME AND HELP IN EXECUTION OF PROJECT. REGARDS AHMED

Sudheer Murthy Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	You will need to install the following packages on your programmer. CP PtP Param V5.1.1 and CP PtP Modbus Slave V3.1.2 available with the CP341 card. This is enable you to configure the CP341 card. You have to insert the dongle available with the Modbus loadable driver in the back of CP341 card. In HW configuration , click on CP341 - Parameters to define the configuration of Modbus communication. Here you can specify the DB that you need to send the data in. Each DB is equivalent to 512 modbus addresses. The formula for the same is available in the manual. Step7 libraries consist of a Modbus library, please copy all the blocks pertaining to S7300 into your project FB7,FB8,FB80. Call FB80 in your project and pass the required parameters. You can use Modscan.exe (available as a free download)as Modbus master for checking this communication. I hope you are aware of Modbus addressing concepts. Best of Luck
