Which is the right procedure to delete an HMI file form a Step 7 project?

I have an Step 7 Project in which a Protool HMI file is integrated, i have to migrate the Protool HMI to WinCC Flex 2008 SP2. So far i have sucessfully done with the migration, and now i will like to deletethe "old" protool project from the Step 7 Project; for that i have a couple of questions: 1. Acording with your experience is there a standart procedure that must be followed to delete an HMI file from a Step 7 Project? 2. Do you have any comments, suggestions or tips you can share about this task? 3. Is enough to just delete the Protool file from the project in simatc manager? Any ideas you can provide will be very helpfull, thanks in advance for your help and have a very nice day . My best regards.

Basically using a delete option (checking eventually in NetPro also) should "remove" the HMI from Step7 project. Then Save As (slow with reorganization)... Best regards, Hristo Mihalev

Marcjan Platinum Expert Joined: 4/22/2010 Last visit: 12/15/2022 Posts: 5697 Rating: (707)	Hello, Maybe this FAQ is interesting for you too, it shows the way to copy your HMI project from Step 7 The FAQ is about Wincc Flex, protool is the same thing. After copying you can convert your file, delete the old file from step 7 and integrate the new file. Copying HMI projects integrated in SIMATIC STEP 7 at file level Note : This function only inserts the operator panel located in an HMI project into a STEP 7 project. If you want to replace an existing HMI station, then the HMI station to be replaced has to be deleted in the SIMATIC Manager. Regards, Marcjan
