which protocol for Simeas P50 ?

dsasorin Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi. I want to programm a power meter Simeas P50 on rs485/232. Basically, i need to read some values at 1 read /sec. I have basic knowledge on serial ASCII protocol because i managed to make a programm that reads values from another power meter (Circutor). I want to do the same with Siemens Simeas P50, but this time i have to choose from a list of protocols supported by this device. (Serial ASCII, MODBUS RTU, MODBUS ASCII, and IEC 60870-5-103). So, what is your recomandation for me? Which protocol is easier to implement in my case ? I must say that i work in Labview 8.6. PS. I can't find documentation for serial ASCII protocol , only for MODBUS and IEC 60870-5-103

I suppose the easier way to implement with Labview 8.6 is tu use Modbus ? Other people said so. What would it be ? RTU or ASCII ? I don't need lighting speed.
