Why data logging csv file is created on the MTP1500 panel but not visible under windows

hi All

I have strange issue and looking for some pointers for troubleshooting.

When i run the simulation on the plc and create some data it is being logged to the panel SD card.

When the simulation finishes the code saves the data to the memory stick connected to the panel.

However it is strange that when the usb stick is removed from the panel and inserted to the windows pc there is no file visible UNLESS the runtime on the panel was stopped and file browser opened on the panel to ensure that file was actually created. It can be opened on the panel to see the data using Libra software.

Can this file be somehow locked until the runtime is stopped? 

for logging the data i used the example the video below (but i logged many more tags around 20) and the code from the video is as follows (attached screenshot as well)

To begin thank you again for really helpful information regarding this issue. I understand that wincc unified undergoes rapid development and its great that this forum helps a lot in issues so our hair do not go grey too early :)

I will try out the script suggested by siemens to some users from the link you sent me but if this will prove not reliable what other options do I have for saving?

1. Can the panel save the info to the network storage which is on the same network and keep the backup on SD card? Do you think this will be reliable?
2. Stoping runtime and manual transfer? As i understand that is 100per reliable but very inconvenient for the operator - not sure how often they will copy the data - i reckon sometimes several times per day.
3. Do you know if there are any updates to this issue in the pipeline for development and maybe update 4 (i already have update 3)

Unfortunately, the Unified Comfort Panels have some problems with ejecting a storage device. The system function "EjectStorageMedium" only works for the storage media used for logging. The Linux-based operating system keeps the file contents in cache and cannot be forced to write the data easily.

There is a scripting solution using the sync command to get the cached data written to the device. Waiting for a longer time will also help, but it is hard to know how long to wait. And of course, rebooting the device will force the system to write the data before it stops.

By the way, it is recommended to use an NTFS file system on the stick.

i thought i would share some feedback and finding after contacting siemens support.

The script that you provided link to is not needed when the latest panel image 18.0.0.3 is used.

That script was meant to force linux to stop holding the file.

In V18.0.0.3 panel only system eject function should be used to eject the usb drive.

However....

Eject function appears to have only selection of 2 usb port X61 and X62 which is a suprise because there are 4 usb ports in total.
