Hello Osld13, maybe this information could be helpful to you: What steps are necessary to migrate a TI 505 controller to a PCS 7 OS project?

Hello osld; I do not believe there is a solution for WinCC in TIA Portal. This is extracted from a WinCC v12 manual: The SIMATIC 500/505 seriell communication driver is not supported by WinCC and The SIMATIC 500/505 Profibus-DP communicaion driver is not supported by WinCC.
There is a solution in WinCC Flexible: WinCC Flexible 2008 Communications, Part1 :http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/187975528. 1.1 Communication partner (SIMATIC 500/505) Introduction This section describes communication between HMI device and SIMATIC 500/505 controllers. With SIMATIC 500/505, the connections use protocols that are specific to the PLCs... And of course you have many 3rd-party HMIs that can talk either serially or with Profibus to a Simatic 505: Maple systems, Red Lion G3 series, EZtouch,, Weinteck... Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

There is a solution from Controltechnology Inc. who have a series of HMI Panels that have drivers for TI505 over serial and ethernet as well as for CTI CPU's and many other brands of PLC's. CTI 2500 Series HMI/SCADA systems Regards, C. |
