Hello Everybody,

My company charged me to buy and install Siemens development software on a computer for implementation of simple automations and display interfaces on at list 3 laptops. One typical application is to display single and total power produced by generators. Other similar simple projects can be implement on the same machine.

Siemens has so many softwares and I dont know wich to choose: (Step 7, Wincc, ...) and what about licenses and authorization.

Do you have an idea on which devices you guys would want to use?
Knowing this would go a long way in helping you.

Also.... are there any older automation equipment that you would want to be capable to service / upgrade? For example.. company ABC has a conveyor line that uses an S7-400 PLC and your company is asked to add on another line.

What "Hardware" you have? it's already Siemens? Sentron... Or you have nothing?

Yes, for now we have 05 Sentron PAC 3200 devices. There is no previous software.

I am working in a hydro powerplant. We did not intend something big like scada for now but just simple applications as I mentionned before.

SENTRON powermanager meets your requirements, but you can use any software that can read values over a Modbus/tcp connection.
