Hello sarfaz; Here is the answer I have given to Usman this morning, when the same exact question was asked: Have a look at SSD Parker drives information pages, to begin your research: SSD Parker supported communication protocols: http://www.ssddrives.com/usa/Products/Communications.php SSD resource center-Communications: http://www.ssddrives.com/usa/doc/Communications.php -Profibus Tips -L5353 S7 Profibus setup As you can see, your question is reversed. Since Profibus-DP is supported by SSD drives, you must confirm if the model you have selected supports it (this is not at all certain, it will depend on the manufacturer).Once you have confirmed it, any Siemens S7-300 CPU that has an integrated Profibus-DP master interface (CPU 31x-2DP), or which has an attached CP 342-5 DP-master comm.. processor will be able to talk to the drive. There is an application note showing how a L5353 drive can be connected to a Siemens PLC using Profibus, use it to base your own application. The only difference in the 2 questions is that you mention the 635 servo model. The SSD Parker information on this drive mentions an optional Profibus-DP communications board., so the above information applies. Just make sure you request and study the Profibus manual for your drive and apply the settings accordingly. http://www.ssddrives.com/usa/Products/Servo_Products/635_series.php Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |
