Will 6ES7 138-4DA04-0AB0 1 count/24vsuit my pplication?

Hello Everyone, 

I am trying to think of the best solution to my problem.

I have a AC motor connected to a VFD which speed is controlled from a S7-300 in a 4-20mA analog output. The AC motor has a dual channel (A and B outputs 90* phase shifted) rotary incremental encoder which I think is 360ppr. My application is for positioning a grab above different locations on a line. 

Usually I would use a FM-350 0r FM-351 module but in my current setup I am using a ET-200s remote rack and would be good if I could add to it. Would the 6ES7 138-4DA04-0ABO be a suitable choice for my hardware? 

I am using a master CPU 315-2D/P (6ES7 315-2AG10-0AB0) and a slave IM-151 standard (6ES7 151-1AA03-0AB0) on the ET-200s rack connected through Profibus DP.

I am worried my two processors might not be able to support HSC functions with this 1count24v/100kHz module.

Thank you for your reply.

I think it should also work as the 6ES7 138-4DA04-0AB0 module does appear in the hardware configuration under my interface module IM151.

Is there any reason or advantage of using the FM 350 or FM351 modules over the 6ES7 138-4DA04-0AB0 for general HSC like my application?

Hi guys again, I have a late post in this forum with another question regarding the above topic.

I was going to use a 312C CPU and SFB 44 (analog positioning) with an incremental encoder to provide a 4-20mA signal for motor drive (non-siemens drive). This would allow the motor to coast and ramp to the desired positions instead of stopping and starting at full speed.

But now I am considering using the 1 count 24v/100kHz ET200S counter with a 315-2DP CPU that does not support this SFB. Can this still be achieved any way or will I have just have to program the changes in the 4-20mA signal myself?

Maybe a vague question but I would appreciate any help.

My explanation is poor so I will go into more detail. 

I want to use the ET-200s 1 count module to count and position a motor that has an incremental rotary encoder coupled on the same shaft. I will use a 4-20mA signal from a separate analog output module from the same PLC to control the speed of the motor through a VFD. 

Now when the count value reaches a number which will require the motor to stop, I would rather slow the motor down prior to stopping instead of stopping rapidly using the 4-20 mA signal to the VFD. 

My main question is there any easy way to control this analog signal and motor positioning or will I have to program the logic myself. For example, I could have used the SFB 44 (analog positioning) but my CPU doesn’t support this?

but if do this job to the VFD is a problem? Ramp up/down?

With STEP 7, how can you control servovalves, frequency converters ...

or if you use this?
