Hello T41 No it will not, the bus will alwaysrun at the speed that you set in HWconfig irespective of the actually installed cable length. Bear in mind too that you could have repeaters installed which are not configered in HWconfig. While youcan (and should) nominate the cable lenght, number of Repeaters,OLM's etc. in the options tab of the network setings, thesesettings willhowever only affect the bus timing parameters (e.g .Slot time, retry limit etc.) but will NOT change the bus speed.
It will NOT automatically decrease the speed (see also above answer), but exceeding the Segment cable lenght for the choosen baudratecould lead to sporadic bus problems oreven complete bus failure (it all depends on how or bad the signal qualityis). Ihope this helps |
