Hi,

we have several working Win cc runtime systems running at the company I work for but I am having issues adding a connection to a project.

currently it has 2 connections by profibus connection through a CP5711 and receives information from these two s7-300 PLC’s and works successfully. it also has 8 connections by Ethernet to Allen Bradley Micrologix PLC’s which also work faultlessly. I am trying to add a S7-1200 plc to the project and get it communicating via Ethernet the issue is I can’t figure out why it won’t see the cpu. I can ping it using the computer runtime is running on but when the runtime is started it does not connect to that device. I have added a connection in “setting pg/pc interface” using the Ethernet card in the pc and called it s7onlinefe and this is matched in the project. I can’t see why it will not establish a connection.

Check the follow issues:

1. Does the ping on the PLC work?

2. Is Simatic Net installed ? Wind is not installed as standard with WinCC.

Please start → All programs → Siemens Automation - > Simatic → product notes → Inst. Check software There must be a point SIMATIC NET PC software.

3. Are the connection parameters correct in WinCC ? IP address, access point: S7ONLINE, product family

4. Is the access point of the S7ONLINE (STEP 7) application with the correct network type selected in the PG/PC interface?

Under Start → Check → PG/PC interface.

If the access point is changed, the computer must be restarted

5. Please check in the TIA Portal under Properties → Protection whether the check mark for "Connection mechanisms" is set.

Select S7-1200/1500. Press the right mouse button. Select Properties. Select "Protection" under the General tab Scroll all the way down in the window.

The check mark when accessed via PUT/GET communication by remote partners (PCL; HMI, OPV, ...) should be set.
