WinCC 6.0 - cannot open System Parameter dialog

jisima Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Hi, I've been forced to open an oldHMI applicationto make some changes there. So I installed WinCC 6.0. To test it with PLC I need toset communication interface which residesat my computer. For this reason I wated to opened "System Parameter" dialog window. (Tag Management --> SIMATIC S7 PROTOCOL SUITE --> TCP/IP <RightClick> --> System Parameter) Surprisingly I couldn't see anything on my screen. Any error messge neithermessage in log files. I have installed as follows: Windows XP Professional SP2 .Net Framework V1.1 SP1 SIMATIC NET PC/Software Edition 2005 + HF1 V6.3 B3234 SIMATIC WinCC 6.0 SP3 + HF2 (02_01.01.00.06) Build 6.1.1.2 Thanks to all of you for any idea.

If there is empty, this mean that there haven't driver connection. Have you already assigned access point in PG/PC Interface? Look at WinCC V6 Communication Manual (page 216). About PLCSIM look at How can you link WinCC to S7 PLCSIM? . You didn't say about hardware in both PC. Is it the same? regards

Concerning my configuration: PC1 running WinXPProfessionalSP2 with STEP7 and WinCC 6.0 ASIA PC2 running WinXP Professional SP2 with WinAC The communication STEP7 - WinAC works well without any problems. That's why I think this is not the point of my problem. Problem is the dialog popup window for setting the communication interface does not open at all if I make RightClick action on TCP/IP item in treebranch SIMATIC S7 PROTOCOL SUITE. If I open the same HMI application in WinCC 6.2 everythink is OK. Unfortunately I need to work with this HMI application in WinCC 6.0. Regards

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, In v6.0 System Parameter would sometimes open in the background, so it didn't pop-up when I opened it. In that case hitting "Alt" + "Tab" brings it to the front. Best regards, Danielle

I also tried to reinstall all Siemens software at my notebook four times with various configurations. Last time I install only WinCC with minimum configuration and still the same situation. Project was originally developed with WinCC V6.0 SP3 ASIA >>What do you mean with HMI application? HMI = Human Machine Interface >>Can you create a new project and open the TCPIP? I already tried to create quite new project with my current WinCC V6.0 installation but nothing has changed. I had idea to change the setting for communication directly in a database table instead of using that dialog window but I didn't find where that information is stored.
