WinCC 6.0 SP2 setup problem on Win2000

hxmiesa Posts: 17 Rating: (2)	Hello, I have a problem installing WinCC 6.0 SP2 on my PC. (HP-Compaq nx9030 withWin2000) It installs until some 8-10%, when it pauses trying to install "Active Communication Environment", and after some 10 minuttes fails with a "Severe" error installing this part/module. My PC has already Step7 installed and running, as well as ProTool and other Siemens software. To install WinCC I had to install SQL Server and a MS fix (KB828748) -without which the WinCC install program would not begin the installation at all. I have tried minimum and personal installations also, but it stops at the same point always. Sometimes the computer even gets totally hung up, and everything fails. (Only a power-cycle seems to help) I hope somebody knows what can be done?! Thanks in advance Best regards Henrik Hoexbroe, SPAIN

TsVas Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	Hi, I don't know if you have installed the Message Queuing in Win2000. In a case like that in the past I had uninstall the Protool, and reinstalled it after installing WinCC. Try before doing that to find WinCC SP3 and install it.

hxmiesa Posts: 17 Rating: (2)	Thanks for your answer; Yes, first thing I had to do was install the message queing from the Windows CD. Protool continues to work OK, but if you say it´s an issue, I will try to uninstall it. Also I will look for an WinCC 6.0 SP3. Best regards Henrik

PCanywhere version?? .... .... Did you install WinCC flexibel?? => then you mustn´t install WinCC on the same PC? regards, nemo

I tried to so that (wincc v6.0 sp2 +hf5) but I got the same error. After which I decided to install wincc sp4 + hf2. Resulting in the same error. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass Sie entsprechend der Installationsanleitung und der Hinweise in der "Liesmich"-Datei vorgehen. Achten Sie speziell darauf, dass: Sie lokal angemeldet sind, über Administratorrechte verfügen und die Windows-Firewall und Virenscanner ggf. deaktiviert sind. Die folgende Anleitung erhebt nicht den Anspruch, mögliche Installationsprobleme auf jeden Fall zu beheben. Die Anleitung kann in vielen Fällen zur Lösung des Installationsproblems beitragen. Nr. Vorgehensweise 1 Installation des SQL-Servers wiederholen Eine mögliche Ursache für den Abbruch der Installation des SQL-Servers kann sein, dass bestimmte Dateien (DLL) ausgetauscht werden sollen. Dies kann jedoch einen Neustart des Rechners erfordern. Sie sollten daher die Installation zunächst nochmals durchführen. Wenn diese dann abbricht, belassen Sie die SQL-Server CD im Laufwerk und starten Sie den Rechner neu. Nachdem der Rechner neu gestartet ist, sollte die Installation fortgesetzt werden. Treten weiterhin Installationsprobleme auf, fahren Sie mit dem nächsten Schritt fort. 2 Logdateien analysieren Es ist ratsam, die während der Installation erzeugten Log-Dateien auszuwerten. Im Windows-Verzeichnis werden folgende Dateien angelegt: sqlsp.log sqlstp.log HMI_SQLServerData.txt 3 Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) aktualisieren Oft besteht das Problem bei der nicht erfolgreichen Installation der ODBC Komponenten, die Bestandteil des Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) sind. Installieren Sie daher den neuesten MDAC - Informationen hierzu erhalten Sie in Beitrags-ID !19354858!. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/19354858 4 SQL-Server deinstallieren Falls vorhanden, deinstallieren Sie unter "Einstellungen > Systemsteuerung > Software" den SQL-Server. Rufen Sie mit "Ausführen > regedit" Comment: "Run > regedit" den Registrierungseditor aufund löschen Sie, falls vorhanden, folgende Schlüssel: unter "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall" den Eintrag "SQL Server2000 (WINCC)" (damit wird der Eintrag in der Systemsteuerung entfernt) unter "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft" den Ordner "MSSQLServer" unter "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Microsoft" den Ordner "Microsoft SQL Server" unter "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Uninstall" den Ordner "Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (WinCC)" Wichtig: Grundsätzlich kann für direkte Änderungen in der Registrierdatenbank keine Gewähr übernommen werden, da dies in der Hand des Anwenders liegt. Es ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert, vor den beschriebenen Zugriffen eine Sicherung der Registry anzulegen. Diese Einstellungen sind zudem rechnerspezifisch. Das bedeutet, sie müssen beim Kopieren des Projekts auf einen anderen Rechner dort erneut gemacht werden. 5 Rechner neu Starten Starten Sie den Rechner neu. Hinweis: In einigen Fällen kann es notwendig sein, das System von der Windows-CD zu booten und dann die Option "Windows reparieren" durchzuführen. 6 SQL-Server und Servicepack separat installieren Führen Sie das Setup des SQL-Servers und dann das Setup des zugehörigen Servicepacks durch. Sie finden diese auf der SQL-Server-CD unter: "<CD_SQLSERVER>SQL2000\Products\MSSQLServer2000" "<CD_SQLSERVER>SQL2000\Products\MSSQLServer2000_SPx" 7 SQL-Server erneut installieren Führen Sie anschließend noch einmal die normale Installation des SQL-Servers durch. Sollte das Setup erneut abbrechen, dann quittieren Sie die Fehlermeldung und starten Sie den Rechner neu. Belassen Sie hierbei die SQL Server CD im Laufwerk. Nach dem Neustart sollte das Setup fortgesetzt werden. ..................."
