WinCC 6.0 SP4 and Automation License Manager

Chuy352 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I recently installed WinCC 6.0 SP4 on XP Prof SP2 but when I tried to run the Automation License Manager in order to install the licenses appears the message "The Automation License Manager Service has not been started. Start the Service". If I try to run WinCC, a German message is showed: "Verbindung zum Automation License Manager Service Konnte nicht aufgebaut werden". I already tried to start the Automation License Service and it starts but it goes to stop inmediatly. Can you help me please. Thanks.

rajasekhar Advanced Member Joined: 1/22/2006 Last visit: 10/8/2020 Posts: 73 Rating: (0)	Dear Chuy352, I would like to share my experience with you....I think you might have installed in a drive, which is not the operating system drive...this may cause the Automatic License Manager Service (ALMS) not getting started...you can check like this start->control panel->admn tools->services->ALM and see whether it has started and also see for the path for executable file...and check whether that file really exists at the location shown at? Good Luck.

Chuy352 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Thanks Nemo for your attention. I don't have installed Step 7 or Net software, I only installed the WinCC 6.0 and its software requeriments (service packs for XP SP2, message queue server, MS SQL server 2000). Is it necessary to install step 7 or/and Net software?

I already checked the service and is not started but I can start it from de services panel but it stops inmediatly and some message tell me that the service goes to stop maybe because it is idle. I checked the pad and it is Ok. Do you know any other reason?
