For this moment even WinCC v7.0 doesn't work properly with SP3. Last decision for me, make in your PC one Virtual Machine and there install only Siemens applications. About virtual mashine read http://www.vmware.com/ . Also you can use other software to prepare... regards

infinity Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	V7 will work properly in Vista I think. Virtual Machine it's hard to make some symbols like $ or # and using screen keyboard every time is boring I had better make D:/ with XP SP2 and WinCC Thank you for all considering

anirban Posts: 38 Rating: (3)	Hi Infinity This is Anirban here. Actually I got the same problem once in my laptop once, when my system administrator formatted my laptop and installed Windows XP SP3. Then I tried to install PCS 7 v7.0 package into the laptop. But it was not successfull. Then I found that you have to manipulate the system registry as written by other guys to install WinCC, I found this document from the forum itself. So don't worry about the registry manipulation, I think it will not do any harm to your existing system. Regards

Now Windows is SP2 and i have again installed WinCC, bur same problems program don't work properly : problem in opening project, RT (CC WriteArchiveServer.exe can't run when i check Alarm Logging or Tag Logging in Start-up), when i remove Tag Logging and Alarm Logging RT activaiton can not progress even.. Follow instructions: So, installation: 1. Install a windows XP SP2 from original CD 2. Do not turn on automatic update at the end of XP installation 4. Install the Step7 if you need 4. Install the MS SQL server 2005 5. Install the WinCC (it will automatically install the required security patches) 6. Now you can turn on automatic updates or start manual update regards

infinity Posts: 25 Rating: (0)	I will try, but formatting is a big trouble for me because of so many programs, maybe i can make the image of current configuration and format but when i go back the configuration, the same problems may probably occur i'm afraid.. Because of these i have thought about installing it into another drive D, what can you say about this?
