wincc 7.0 and XP pro Sp3

autom Posts: 89 Rating: (1)	Thangs UMENCHO for your reply. I saw that compatibility list and i wonder if there is and another one that i didn't find becausethat list is too small. Is anyone who use wincc 7.0 with windows xp pro with Sp3 and had any problems? I order one pc with windows xp pro, unfortunately has Service pack 3 and i dont want to Format it. There is another way? If i try to install wincc 7.0 in windows xp with Sp3 i will have problems?? Thanks

Or but not recommendedopen your Registry Editor and add the following registry key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP3\KB319740] Reboot your PC and you should now be able to install WinCC without any problems. Also with search here you will find more information about this problem with SP3 of Windows. regards

autom Posts: 89 Rating: (1)	Hello, My PC Just arrived with windows xp sp3 and i can't uninstall SP3 because does not exixst in add remove programms (i also chech the fieldshow updates) and i've done all the microsofts methods in the follwing link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950249. Any Idea guys?? Dear UMENCHO if change that register key do you know if i will have serius problems?? Thangs In advance Guys.

I had experience many ppl got trouble intalling WinCC over Xp SP3 and solutions always was different for each station (especially with Windows OEM installation) If you don't have lincense problem (SP2 instead SP3) I suggeest you to format PC and reinstall in right way, could need works a lot of time to be able to install WinCC over SP3. Regards

Thanks I had a colleague that experienced a problem with WinCC 7.0 and SP SP3. He originally loaded WinCC 7.0 onto XP SP2 but he used the Windows automatic updater and SP3 was eventually installed. When he tried to use the Step 7 Symbol Server in the Graphics Editor to attach tags to graphic objects, the connection was not made. So even if you can getWinCC 7.0 loaded on XP SP3, you will experience problems. billwest

Kgops Posts: 16 Rating: (0)	I hope SIMENS is working on a Patch to fix this, as XP pro SP3 is a great upgrade in terms of security. Downgrading to SP2 is definately not Ayoba,,,, I had to Create a Virtual Machine for SP2 for a WinCC project i am working on
