WinCC 7.0 Group Display Overview

Previously I managed to make the group display work by writing a script to the group value, but if I am to write a script, the overview doesnt work.

I tried putting a unsigned 32 bit tag into the group value and the overview works. From my understanding, the status tag that is to be placed inside the group value has to be manipulated first.

How do I manipulate the status tag without writing a script or how do I make the overview work in this case?

I have no control over the PLC, I just obtain data from it only. Please help, its very urgent.

Basically I obtain 16 bit from the PLC where 0 = ok, 1 = warning and 2 = alarm. In order to generate alarm, I place the 16 bit tag into the Message Tag in alarm logging and set message bit accordinly to status bit.

For example

Msg Tag |Msg Bit |Status Tag |Status Bit

----------------|---------------|------------------------|-------------------

16 bit tag |0 |32 bit tag | 14

16 bit tag | 1 | 32 bit tag | 15

According to the previous link I posted, I will have to manipulate the the status tag to put into the group display's group value. I manage to manipulate the tag with a c-script but unfortunately the group display in the overview can regconize it.

Maybe my approach is wrong, what i need is to get the 16 bit from the PLC, determine its alarm level in alarm logging and display its alarm in group display. Then if any group display were to generate an alarm, another group display in the overview will display alarm accordingly.

The overview I acquire from OS Project Editor where the Editor will generate its own template and do the rest of the process.
