WinCC 7.0 tagprefix issue

I am using WinCC 7.0 and with trying to make popup or faceplate functionality. The tags associated with the faceplate are not a part of structure. The tag set name for one variable eg


PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201STH1 (trip high setpoint)
PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201SH1 (alarmhigh setpoint)
PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201STL1 (trip low setpoint)
PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201SL1 (alarm low setpoint)
PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201FH1 (Alarm high) This variable only have one alarm
PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201 (main variable)

In above tags the variable name is 'PDIT1201' so it will be different for different variables.

The problem now I have is

1) My tagprefix does not stop with '.' would that be an issue because in the VB reference manual it does say that it should always end with '.'

2) If I set the tagprefix to 'PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201' how I can assign the main variable to the faceplate. As this is the full name of the main variable.

I am using the VB script

Please feel free to suggest any other technique for that.

Yo can use dyanamic dialog in a simple to achive your goal instead of vb script:

Use Tag prefix PLC$TO$VDU.V_PDT1201 and in dynamic dialog expression use follwing for each.

'STH1'
'SH1'
'STL'
'SL1 '
'FH1'

One thing I did not mentioned that I have more than 100 variables (the one I have given is just an example) and that's why I want to do it using tagprefix.

Alsoby usinginternal tags the variable which I'll be showing in the bar will not beupdated cyclically.

riot thats right that I can access the alarms using the tagprefix you have mentioned but how can I access the main variable its name is same as the tagprefix so what should I specify as tag.

I am using the script also to initiliase the bar which I am using to display the main variable.
