wincc advanced - new datalog csv file every day

I would like to write some datalogs and have the runtime create a new datalog file every day, e.g. datalog 2014-06-30.csv, datalog 2014-07-01.csv, etc. I found this post: /tf/WW/en/Posts/72823 I did the startnextlog command on a scheduled daily task, but the name of the log did not change. What am I missing? Thank you.

jimt-bip Member Joined: 6/11/2014 Last visit: 1/8/2025 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	To answer my own question, this is what I did: 1) Create a scheduled task, Daily trigger (I set mine to use the backup timer @ 8:00 am) 2) On Event: a) Closealllogs b) ArchiveLogFile i) Log type: Data log ii) Log: flow_log <or name of your datalog> iii) Directory Name: c:\logs\archive\ iv) Mode: Move c) repeat step (b) for all datalogs d) OpenAllLogs At 8:00am each morning, all the affected datalogs are moved to c:\logs\archive\ and renamed with a date and time stamp. The runtime has to be on at 8:00 am for it to trigger. It would be nice if I could make the runtime do the above steps each time it starts up. I haven't been able to figure that out, so had to compromise and added it to Stop Runtime button.

I tried this configuration that is in the attached pictures, but nothing happens when the backup timer parameter is reached. Any ideas what could be wrong? Edit: I tried to trigger the same function on a tag change. It works for one of the two datalogs. For the second I get an error msg that the datalog isn't closed. But this solution isn't okay beacuse this function gets triggered every runtime start... Cheers Aleix
