WinCC Alarm Control

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	For the customer's project, we have created for security reasons, two buttons (login - logout). After entering the login-name and password, the column "username" doesn't show the connected user, although the corresponding Tag is updated (@current user). Is there any idea, what settings do we have to change to the WinCC Alarm Control or what else might be wrong? Thanks in advance for your time

The column is used for i.e. the acknowledgement of an alarm (you will find the user that acknowledged the alarm in that message). If i'm not mistaken it's also used within the operater control messages. with regardsm Ikkezelf

They all see the same alarms, but only one could get appointed as user. Please explain what you think is the benefit, or what you are trying to accomplish, then we can think of something usefull to implement and how. with regards, Ikkezelf

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi, In the User Administrator, we have appointed 10 different users with different levels of access. Theadministrator of the plantwants whenever a userlogs in, whatever actions is he doing (start a motor, change a parameter etc), whichever incident happens while he is logged in (f.e. a motor failed during he was logged in) to be reported in the WinCC Alarm Control withhis name, date, time etc. If Ihave beenquite clear, please tell me to explain it further. Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	Hi, you will have an entry when the user logs in, and one when the user logs out, isn't that enough to determine that all alarms in that time frame are activated when that user was logged in? I can imagin that you want to know which user perfomed what action, but to list which user was online.. But what you can do. - tell me what kind of setup do you have? Just one pc with server/client in one application? - if so, you could add a process value to all your alarm messages which include the usermane tagvalue. with regards, ikkezelf

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, I agree with Ikkezelf on this... the fact that the alarm went it while an operator was online isn't really that much of an information. You should create a log of login / logut events. With this you'll know exactly from what time to what time a user was logged in. And if they acknowledge an alarm you'll also have their names registered, since alarm acnowledgment is something important. Are you trying to implement alarm messages for every possible action a user does, to track them? If so, be sure you'll classify those messages, so that user actions messages are not displayed on the online alarm windows (e.g. messages without status "went out"), otherwise the operators will have a whole lot of messages to view at a time. It may cause confusion, or get them to ignore actual alarms. WinCC has an option to track user actions, it's the Audit... maybe you should check that out! Best regards, Danielle

amateur Posts: 145 Rating: (3)	Hi and thanks for your interest, We have two pc's (one server and one client). I did what Ikkezelf suggested about the process value. The result is that now we can see who user was online, but there are a whole lot of messages. The desired result is to know which user preformed what action. So, how can I further classify those messages, in order to being displayed only the actions that an operator performed? PS. In the server was logged in f.e. operator 1 and in the client was logged in f.e. operator 2. When operator 2 did an action from the client pc, in the list of messages it was being displayed the name of the user who was logged in the server, operator 1, which was not a true. Is there any suggestin or idea how can we handle this? Thanks in advance for your time Best Regards

Danielle Posts: 1275 Rating: (123)	Hi, To filter out the real alarms from user action messages, you could do 2 things: 1 - Create an alarm class for your operator events. Within this class' properties, in the "Acknowledgment" tab, select the "Messages Without Status 'Went Out'" option. All the messages which only indicate the operator did something should belong to this class. With this, you've already made sure these messages don't ever show up on the online windows, only in alarm history windows, and they won't need acknowledgment, and don't have a went out event associated to them (so you'll only have 1 message each time an operator does something, instead of 3). 2 - Now, the messages will still be in every alarm history window, and make it very difficult to analyse those. To prevent that you should filter out this class in the alarm control object which displays the alarm history. (Using the MsgFilterSQL property within the Control Properties of you alarm control object) 3 - Create an alarm window specifically for these operator events. It'll be an alarm history window, with a filter to exclude all real alarms, leaving only the operator messages class you've created. Best regards, Danielle
