WinCC and XML

ogryzekMF Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi All, Does anyone work with WinCC6.0+CC and parser xml (XRECES.DLL as external file DLL) to maintain exchange of information through XML?? or Any suggestions/hints how to organize exchange of info through XML. "Info" sense is that XML/XSD file exist and through client(external prog with exported DLL functions)application is send to server (file XSD should be filled with info of alarms from PLC). Maybe OPC-Server/Client is useful, but this is new for me:( Any suggestions is appreciate. OgryzMF

OgryzMF Hi, The XERCES library is only a parser, that you can use inside WinCC, but sincerely I never made this. You can read the tag of WinCC and use the XERCES to write this values in a XML file. I already used XERCES to parses values with JAVA. In PCS 7V7.0 the XERCES is installed, I don'tknow who consumes her. Anyway, I think that you can use others technologies besides XERCES to data exchange between WinCC and consumers. I recommend you to seek IndustrialDat@Brigde orConnectivityPack and in a last case WinCC ODK. The OPC Client is a good solution, but you will have to learn the structure of the communication OPC (OPC-Data Access, OPC-Historical Data Access and OPC-Alarms and Events).

But you can read the values from DB with ConnectivityPack and then write these values in a XML file. By using the ConnectivityPack you will be the creator of procedoures to read and make the parser to XML. If you use the IndutrialDataBridge you will configure graphically the link configuration between WinCC and several consumers (CSV, TXT, other DB, EXCEL, OPC and others). Once you have these data in another format, you can publish these data in web using ASP or JAVA (with JAVA I would recommend you to use Hibernate). Did I help or did I complicate more?

"By using the ConnectivityPack you will be the creator of procedoures to read and make the parser to XML" - without parser features?? 3. or my knowladge of CC is still "poor" IndustrialDataBridge (IDB) - im not and expert but finally i should took a look at... The ConectivityPack is only a OLE DB Provider, to be used with ADO objects (ADO.Connection, ADO.Recorset, ADO.Command...etc). A query with this OLE DB Provider will return the data of DB of WinCC. You should create procedures in a VB, VC++ or VBS application that use this OLE DB Provider to read the values from DB, and then make the parser (using XERCES or other) in a XML file. Maybe, if its knowledge are not deep in technologyas VB e ADO, I recommend you to use the IndustrialDataBridge.

ogryzekMF Posts: 11 Rating: (0)	Hi, About OLE DB Provider there are planty of examples and iinfo - this part in oki for me, IndustrailDataBridge now is in my focus. Only problem I have to implement XERCES features in my project - I understand how it works (nodes,element etc.), I have prepared XML file. Unfortunatelly i wasntable to find an examle XERCES and WinCC (it has special compilatorC). There are planty examples of XERCES/PHP etc. I understand that XERCES library has an exported function likeGetNodeName... and using it I can "walk" thought XML/XSD file and fill it with values. Then send data by SOAP client which unfortunatelly i must to use it (cooperation between departments ;)). So if you did something similair or know how, help is a "power of mind" Mariusz

Ex.
