WINCC Are Index Tags possible in a multi dimensional array?

Toddy26 Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	I'm using version 13 Update 1 of TIA Portal. My project has a S7-1500 PLC and 1200 Comfort HMI. Does anyone know if you can use index tags in a multi dimensional array in WINCC? I have tried to add one but it just errors. With a single dimension array I can add a tag with an index. For example "Test DB"."Test"[Index] With multi dimensional I would like to do the following - "Test DB".Test[Index,0] Thanks

When I try to add a multi dim array tag with an index in the HMI I get the following error: "The address is not available for use with symbolic addressing, indirect addressing or array elements" Hello Toddy, I'm not able to test this at the moment but I'm pretty sure if you'd made 2 integer tags, one called #x and the other called #y and you link them to an I/O field on the HMI that you can address the components with the followingsyntax: ArrayName[#x, #y] Try it and let us know. Toddy26 Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	Hi Jens, I did try agian but I get the same error. For now I am using SCL in the PLC to get the data I need and stick it in a DB that the HMI looks at. I would still like to do it in WinCC but at the moment it doesnt look possible. It is easy to do it for single dimension arrays in WinCC as I have done it many times but never had to do it for multi dimension before. Kind regards, Toddy

Also are you getting a system failure while the program is in run, or a compiler error? Can you show me the error you are getting? I'll await your reply and help you as soon as I know more. Toddy26 Posts: 7 Rating: (1)	Hi Jens, Thanks for the reply. I'm ok with an SCL option as I already have that covered. The problem I have is that I would like the HMI to do the work as I am working on a scan time critical project and am cutting it fine. I can't attach my actual project but have attached a simple version of what I am trying to do. Please not the array sizes in my actual project are a lot bigger. basically i want to be able to input the station number in the HMI screen and use that as the array index on both the single dimension and multi dimension arrays. For the multi dimension arrays I have 10 fields on the screen so only need to use the array index in the first diemension.
