WinCC Basic V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: absolute indirect addressing

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is give a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Description:

Many applications demands that some screens objects (IO field, Symbolic IO field, etc.) represents alternately different field objects.

The absolute indirect addressing feature permits that a HMI tag could be “linked” with different PLC tags according references tags.

It is easy to use this feature, despite it just works with non optimized PLC tags (an absolute address is necessary).

Requirements:

WinCC BasicV13 SP1.

Project with a minimum configuration (stop button, tags, etc.).

Configuration main steps:

• Create PLC tags with absolute addresses (memory or DB with the option “optimized data access” unchecked - in our example, memory)

• Create a HMI Tag that represents the address of the desired tag (in our example, HMI_Tag_2, UINT).

• Create a HMI Tag that represent the PLC tags (in our example, HMI_Tag_1)

• Set the HMI_Tag_1 properties:

  • Access mode = <Absolute Address>

  • Address = %M[HMI_Tag_2] (when input the address, change form constant to tag and give the index tag).

• Define as convenience values for HMI_Tag_2 so that HMI_Tag_1 represents the desired variable (for example, if HMI_Tag_2 = 2, HMI_Tag_1 = MW2)
