WinCC Basic V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: Users – logon

“Simple Samples” are small projects that demonstrate simple features. The target is give a quick overview about the theme and be used as start point for related discussions. Follow there are a short description and the configuration main steps.

Description:

This simple sample shows how to logon a user in diferent ways:

By Logon system dialog (click in a specific object or – system provided – click in an unauthorized object)

By button (user / password defined by variables)

By button (predefined user / password)

Requirements:

WinCC Basic V13 SP1.

Project with a minimum configuration (stop button, tags, user, user groups, authorizations, etc. See “WinCC Basic V13 SP1 – Simple Sample: Users – access restriction” - https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf/br/en/posts/135188/).

Configuration main steps:

Logon system dialog (click in a specific object, e.g. button)

• Place a button on the screen

• In the button → properties → events → click call the system function “ShowLogonDialog”

Logon system dialog (click in an unauthorized object)

• that is a system feature, by click in a unauthorized object (i.e. the actual user doesn't have access right to it) automatically the system logon dialog windows appears.

Button (user / password defined by variables)

• Create two internal string variables (in our case, HMI_User_Name and HMI_User_Password).

• Drag & drop these variables on screen so to build IO fields to them

• Place a button on the screen

• In the button → properties → events → click call the system functions

  • Logon (Password = HMI_User_Password, User name = HMI_User_Name)

Button (predefined user / password)

• Create two internal string variables (in our case, HMI_User_Name and HMI_User_Password).

• Drag & drop these variables on screen so to build IO fields to them

• Place a button on the screen

• In the button → properties → events → click call the system functions

  • SetTag (UserName = HMI_User_Name, Value = “John”)

  • SetTag (UserPassword = HMI_User_Password, Value = “111”)

  • Logon (Password = HMI_User_Password, User name = HMI_User_Name)

Logoff by button:

• Place a button on the screen

• In the button → properties → events → click call the system function “Logoff”
