Hello BitOff, writing into an Excel file would be possible with WinCC RT Advanced, but not on a Comfort Panel. Archiving as .csv is the right way to go. Excel can read in CSV files, but you have to be a bit careful with the Import parameters of Excel and the language settings of both devices (Which decimal seperator is used?). Here is an FAQ that shows how you can make graphs out of the archived data (in Excel) to make it easier to "read".
Don't forget to stop the logging before removing the memory card or it might corrupt the archive file. Here is an FAQ you can use to make sure the card is in place again when you start logging again:
It might be useful if the date and time is used in the archive file name / path Name to reduce possible confusion when recollecting them on a PC. Here is an application example that might help with that:
You can log directly to a location in the network (instead of the memory card), but you can't access the memory devices in the panel via network. ...Is it necessary to collect the memory Cards manually? To me it sounds nicer to automize the logging. Make a trigger for the start/stop of the logging and save the archives in the network in a well build structure in the long-term archiving way. |
